The Male Protagonist K*dnapped the Wrong Person - 42
Chapter 42 - "She wanted you to pity me"
Zhou Manlin was so frightened and started crying. She
choked and admitted: "I… I couldn’t help myself. Please forgive me. Why do
you always have someone helping you wherever you are?"
Doctor Yang was always on her side in the sanatorium, and
was more than willing to help her when she was abandoned by the Sang family;
even the k*dnapper who k*dnapped her was willing to take her in. Jealousy was
eating her alive when she saw how he dotted on her.
"I’m starting to really get tired of you." Sang Rou pushed her little kn*fe, and blood trickled onto the floor.
Why did she have to tell Qin Zheng about her family? He used to gaze at her with admiration in his eyes, like she was the perfect girl for
him. But now, all she can see is pity.
Zhou Manlin's face was pale, and she tried to remain calm:
"You can't k*ll me. You… you’ll go to jail."
Sang Rou’s black eyes looked particularly penetrating in
the darkness, staring at her unblinkingly.
Zhou Manlin's heart was beating rapidly. She was shaking in
fear.
In the long silence, the kn*fe in Sang Ruo's hand suddenly
fell to the ground. She wiped off the blood on her thumb.
"You’re keeping something from me." Her tone was
irrefutable.
Zhou Manlin covered her neck and felt the blood in her
hands. She was extremely frightened: "Sang Min is looking for you. She
wants to k*ll you."
Sang Min hasn’t been the same since she was diagnosed with
leukemia. She hated her biological sister with all her heart and will do
anything to get rid of her. In her eyes, Sang Rou was her replacement.
If Sang Rou tried to come back, she would k*ll her and do it with her bare hands.
"I overheard the conversation between my dad and Uncle
Sang. They said they would send Sang Min abroad first to distract her and put
some distance between the two of you until you get married." She fell on
her knees and looked at her pleadingly.
Sang Rou had no reaction.
When Zhou Manlin was about to ask her to take her to the
hospital, the door was pried open, and the three people standing outside were
stunned.
Qin Zheng rushed in, pulled her to his side, and hugged her
with slightly trembling hands: "What happened?"
Chen Da and He You came in shouting. Zhou Li had already
given his ransom and had been taken back by his men. They were about to send
Zhou Manlin back as well, but they didn't expect to see such a bloody scene as
soon as they entered the door.
Sang Ruo said lightly: "She wanted to commit suicide,
but I stopped her."
Zhou Manlin's blood kept flowing down, and after hearing
her words, she became so angry that she fainted.
Chen Da and He You rushed her to the hospital.
Sang Ruo stared at Qin Zheng: "I did it."
Qin Zheng's heart froze and his fingers curled. He can’t
imagine how his prim and proper little girl can turn into a blood thirsty little
flower.
She continued: "She wanted you to pity me."
Qin Zheng looked down at her and finally understood——
She has always expressed herself the only way she knows how. She had her own normal. She just wants him to look at her like he used to, not like an unwanted little girl.
There’s no story behind her. She’s just Sang Ruo who likes
to play snakes, hates fat and obsessed with being clean. Her family doesn’t
define her. They have nothing to do with her.
Qin Zheng bent down and held her shoulders: "I
shouldn’t have asked her. I should have trusted you to tell me what I need to
know.”
He was not a stranger to people’s preconceived notions.
They see him on the streets, and they immediately think he's a thug, no matter
how hard he tries to keep his head down. He used to go above and beyond to show
people he was harmless until he realized that no matter what he did, people
would always have something to say.
If he had realized what he was doing, he wouldn't have to
see the pain and sadness in Sang Rou’s eyes.
