The Male Protagonist Kidnapped the Wrong Person - 41

Chapter 41 - "He’s avoiding me"

When Sang Ruo woke up, she was in Qin Zheng's arms, her neck was pressed, and she could hardly breathe.

She pushed him slightly, but Qin Zheng hugged him tighter.

Sang Ruo felt strange: "What are you doing?"

His eyes stared at her, and his eyes darkened. His hurt is aching because of what she has been through, but he doesn't know how to express it.

He pursed his lips and apologized to her first: "I'm sorry."

Sang Ruo looked up at him, not understanding what his asking forgiveness for.

He had always been straightforward about everything, and for the first time he carefully considered his words before saying anything: "I talked to Zhou Manlin and... found out about your past."

She looked at him strangely, waiting for him to continue.

Qin Zheng's throat felt dry and he touched her fair face: "I don't want to expose your scars——"

He just wants to understand her and protect her.

Sang Ruo interrupted him: "My past does not define me."

"You don't have to feel sorry for me, I have a good life."

The Sang family has not completely abandoned her, at least they've paid for her expenses since she was a child. In comparison, her life is better than most people in the world.

They never loved her or attempted to show any affection. The transition was easy when they sent her away. She can’t miss something she never had.

Qin Zheng's hands clenched into fists. He could see the indifference in her eyes. What if she sees him in the same way?

They stared at each other like this.

In the end, he gave in and stroked her long black hair with his hand: "I just want to give you a better life."

Sang Rou only said: "I’ll follow all of your rules."

Qin Zheng was a little frustrated. She always thought this was an agreement instead of a relationship.

He said hoarsely: "I'll get you some food."

Sang Ruo raised her head and looked at his back. He always cooked for her, and even though they were awful, she always tried her best to eat them.

He was avoiding her, she was sure.

She was finally happy for the first time ever. Zhou Manlin is ruining everything. There’s a reason she didn’t want Qin Zheng to know about her family. She wanted to be treated like a normal girl.

She put on her clothes expressionlessly and went downstairs, sneaking in without even turning on the lights in the utility room.

Zhou Manlin was so hungry that she’s getting delirious, when she saw shadows moving she freaked out.

Sang Ruo said: "It's me."

She breathed a sigh of relief and then jumped for joy: "Are you planning to let me go?"

"Don't worry. I won't tell Uncle Sang or anyone about what you did. I'll help keep your reputation clean so you can still marry into a wealthy family."

Sang Rou slowly opened a Swiss knife, stepped closer to her, and then put the knife close to her neck while she was smiling brightly: "Why did you tell him?"

Zhou Manlin’s smile froze in an instant, and the blade was pressed tightly against her flesh. If she moved even a little, the knife would pierce her skin.

Zhou Manlin's voice trembled: "He asked me, so I told..."

Sang Ruo narrowed her eyes, and her clear voice echoed in the small space: "You made a mistake."
