Chapter 52 - Gifts

"Lord Samus!"

As soon as Duoduo entered the hall, she saw a beautiful woman throwing herself at Samus and giving him a warm hug.

"Won't she dine with us?"

"No." Samus turned and left with Duoduo.

Back at the Lord's Mansion, Duoduo took out the gift box given by Jiema and showed it off like a show: "This is the gift Jiema gave me."

Samus was silent for a moment and asked, "Why did she give you a gift?"

"She said this is a gift from the adoptive mother to the adopted daughter."

"She gave it to you and you took it?" Samus said in a bad tone.

"I think she will be very disappointed if I don't accept it." Duoduo opened the box and saw a gem-encrusted hairpin inside. She took out the hairpin and gestured it to Samus' head. The shining light of the gem reflected Samus' face in an extremely strange way.

Samus stared at her with deep eyes: "You don't mind me being with other women at all?"

Duoduo paused and asked, "Will you be with Jiema just because she gave me a gift?"

"Of course not."

"Then it doesn't matter if I accept her gift, right?" Duoduo hesitated, "Is this gift very expensive?"
