The Law of Food Raising - 56

Chapter 56 - Isolated and Helpless

Samus had a nightmare. The content of the dream was blurred, but there was a vague premonition of it.

He rubbed his eyebrows and looked at the empty and dark room, suddenly longing to see Duoduo. He walked out of the room and came to Duoduo's door, but did not go in. Standing stiffly under the grape trellis, he was in a daze.

Inadvertently, from the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a pair of ears sticking out from the corner of the wall, and a pair of glowing eyes flashing at the same time.

Samus raised the corners of his mouth slightly, turned around, walked over, and sat down against the wall.

The rabbit came out of the nest and looked at him strangely. Did he stay awake in the middle of the night and sleepwalk?

"Can't sleep." Samus said, "I had a nightmare and I feel a little uneasy."

The rabbit patted his leg in understanding. It also had a nightmare. It dreamed that all the fruits and vegetables it planted were destroyed by insects overnight, and not a single vegetable leaf was left. It was such a terrible feeling!

Samus hugged the rabbit, and the warm and soft feeling in his hands immediately made him feel much better.

He raised his head, looked at the starry night sky through the gaps in the grape leaves, and said softly: "Duoduo, do you think I am useless?"

Why did this man suddenly become sad? The style of painting is completely wrong! Was he being mentally attacked again?

Duoduo squinted her eyes and probed with her senses, and sure enough she found a trace of abnormal mental fluctuations.

Well, it seems that the dietary therapy must continue. This kind of mental attack is pervasive and specializes in inducing other people's weak points. It is really difficult for people to guard against it.

The "sad" Samus talks a lot. From birth to the first awakening of magic, and from the first awakening of magic to taking over Kavos, he has gone through many detours and suffered many criticisms during this period.

While Duoduo listened quietly, she took out a fruit from nowhere, leaned comfortably on Samus' belly, and ate it slowly.

"Now that I think about it, although I have good strength, everything I have seems to have been given by my family." Samus continued, "My family protected me from growing up and helped me become the Lord of Kavos. If I were not a descendant of King Thuran, at most I might be a warrior attached to a certain army force, rather than an independent lord."

After the rabbit gnawed the fruit, she held the core and said to Samus through mental transmission: "How about I plant this core in a flower pot and make it a potted plant for you?"

Samus smiled and said, "Well, as long as you are happy."

【Then it’s decided. 】 Duoduo happily collected the core,【"I will definitely be able to grow a beautiful potted plant." 】

"Of course, I believe you."

Rabbit raised his head, his eyebrows curved: 【"I believe in you too." 】

Samus was surprised.

【No matter where you plant it, you'll be able to grow into a big, strong, powerful tree. 】

Samus' heart trembled slightly.

Rabbit said again: 【However, you must remember that you must grow into a fruit tree, otherwise I will be too lazy to pay attention to you. 】

Samus smiled: "Okay." It's settled.

After a night of chatting, Samus was in a happy mood and went to work full of energy the next day.

However, his good mood disappeared after noon. The real crisis suddenly arrived, and the mental attack was just the prelude.

"Cousin Bronn, what do you mean?" In the hall, Samus looked at his cousin and asked coldly.

"On behalf of the Oya family, I formally request that you hand over your position as lord." Bronn announced this shocking order in front of a group of alliance generals.

"Why?" Samus asked, motionless. It would be unwise for the family to send someone to seize power at this time. What's even more strange is that most of the family supports him, and Bronn's prestige has always been below him. What basis does he have to replace him?

Della on the side also showed doubts. She originally thought that Bronn was sent by the family to help, but she didn't expect that he was here to seize power.

"Why?" Bronn sneered, "Because you do not have the Oya blood running in your veins."

As soon as these words came out, the whole place was in an uproar. Samus, who had always been cultivated as an heir, was not of Oya's blood?

"What did you say?" Samus said in a cold voice, "You slandered my reputation like this. Even if you are my cousin, I have the right to punish you."

Bronn snorted coldly: "Since I dare to say it, I naturally have evidence."

He clicked on the instrument on his wrist, and a light beam unfolded in the air. On it was a sequence diagram intertwined in vertical and horizontal directions: "This is the bloodline diagram of the Oya family that I copied from the Thousand Mile Network. It started from the ancestor King Thuran and has been passed down to this day. All family members are listed, except you."

Samus stood up suddenly and stared at his diagram.

"Impossible!" Della retorted, "The family lineage has been verified and no one can tamper with it."

"I really don't know how Samus' mother did it, but the fact is that she hid it from everyone and gave Samus the identity of the Oya family." Bronn said calmly, "At first I thought Samus was the child of his aunt behind his uncle's back. When searching the blood bank, no proof of his origin could be found. In other words, not only did he not have the blood of the Oya family, he was not even born to his aunt. Samus is a b*stard."

There was another commotion in the hall.

Samus' face was frighteningly cold, and his whole body was tense, unable to believe this fact.

Della obviously couldn't accept it, and angrily said: "Bronn, do you know the punishment for fabricating evidence to slander the family heir?"

"Wouldn't you know if it was a fabrication or not when you go back and check?" Bronn looked calm and looked very confident.

"A five-star license is required to access bloodline data from the Thousand Mile Network. Where did you obtain the license?" Chi Xiao suddenly asked.

"That's right." Della said, "The Oya family has separated from the new Royal Family. It is impossible for you to obtain permission from them. Could it be that you have colluded with them?"

Bronn's expression changed: "Don't talk nonsense! Della, you don't want me to disclose the family's internal secrets in front of so many people, right?" Although the Oya family has separated from the Jintilas, it is still hidden in the center of power. There are hidden lines.

Internal secrets? Everyone present had a look of curiosity on their faces. They were very interested in knowing!

Della remained silent.

Seeing this, Bronn said proudly: "The family has already confirmed this, so I was sent to take over as Lord of Kavos. Samus, in view of your contribution to the family, we will not punish you. Your parents have also passed away. As long as you hand over your position as lord and remove Oya's surname, everything in the past will be wiped out."

"Sir!" Chi Xiao and others shouted together.

They followed Samus through life and death, were loyal to him, and never wanted him to give up Kavos because of bloodline issues.

Samus was silent, and the atmosphere in the hall became very depressing.

Bronn narrowed his eyes and added: "I think everyone knows that a person without a bloodline certificate is either born into a homeless family or comes from a counter-organization."

Everyone's expressions changed slightly.

All the territories of Thuran must be succeeded by nobles. Nobles do not have titles for nothing. Most of them have outstanding abilities and have made outstanding contributions to the planet. Therefore, assuming the position of lord of one party is justified and everyone is convinced. But homeless people and members of counter-organizations are a different story.

Vagrants refer to lower-class civilians who were not registered. They may not go to the royal city for notarization because of poverty, ignorance, or remoteness. Without an identity card, it means that they cannot find a formal job and cannot enjoy their rights openly.

However, there are occasionally a few people among the homeless who can awaken their magic. They have the opportunity to become nobles or even lords, but it just takes time to prove it.

But counter-organizations are different. They are full of malice towards the world and the ruling class. They refuse to keep their information in the network, and often even undermine the operation of the network. They wander on the gray edge and are enemies of the entire world.

Once Samus loses Oya's surname and cannot prove his identity, he will be completely disgraced. It would be okay if he was a vagrant, but if he was a member of the counter-organization, then everyone, even his cronies, might no longer be loyal to him.

It turns out that the ominous premonition last night was true. Samus looked around, feeling cold all over under the gaze of everyone.

He has only two choices now. One is to completely break with the Oya family, stick to Kavos and become independent; the other is to hand over the position of lord, withdraw from the center of power, and become a vagrant with no identity and no foothold.

No matter which choice he makes, he will lose the prestige and status he has accumulated in the past, and the alliance will fall apart.

Samus looked in the direction of the Royal City with a cold heart. Goro (the head of the Royal City's magicians), is this your trump card? With one move, he was able to draw out the firepower and make him unable to retreat. He took every precaution and never doubted the identity of the descendant of King Thuran that he was proud of.

Suddenly, Samus felt a stabbing pain in his brain, his pupils shrank, and a strong murderous intention enveloped the entire hall.

"Samus, what do you want to do?" Bronn sarcastically asked, "Do you want to go on a k*lling spree?"

The rest of the people were alert and looked at Samus with uncertainty.

"Samus, I, Moisen, will never submit to a person of unknown origin." Lord Moisen suddenly shouted.

"Me too."

"I respect you as a person, and we may have the opportunity to become a partner in the future. I hope you won't be impulsive."

"Why are you talking nonsense with him? What qualifications does a person with no identity have to be the leader of the alliance? Fortunately, I still admired him before."

"Lord Bronn, we support you in becoming the new lord of Kavos."

"Yes, we support it too."

The crowd in the hall was excited and people spoke without any scruples. Only a few people remained silent, looking at Samus with complicated expressions.

Hiding in the dark, Duoduo's eyes flashed, and there were chaotic mental fluctuations everywhere in his sight. Among them, Samus was the worst, almost entangled in a mental turbulence, and his emotions were on the verge of exploding. Is it already out of control before I can try to control it?

If there was no mental attack, everyone would at least check the matter first and give Samus some time to calm down. But the hidden negative emotions of these people were completely aroused. Jealousy, resentment, dissatisfaction, gloating, adding insult to injury... all flowed towards Samus uncontrollably.

Samus, who had always been so majestic, lost everything in an instant and was left alone and helpless.

He is proud of his status as a descendant of King Thuran and holds a high position with his strong strength. However, his identity is false, and his strong strength also comes from the cultivation and support of his family.

He is nothing but a magician. There is no origin, no inheritance, no family, and not even a clear position.

Samus could no longer think calmly, and everything he once believed in collapsed in front of his eyes.

The entire hall fell into a huge pressure, with heavy despair and anger, as well as the desire to destroy everything.
