Chapter 81 - I’m not coming back.

Bai Jianwei and Zhou Juan were quarreling in their bedroom. Bai Li was brought to the room by the eldest and second sister. Bai Fei stayed with him and took a tissue to wipe her tears.

This scene is very familiar. Many times, their parents have quarreled like this.

Before, their house was still relatively small, and all four children slept in the same room. Whenever their parents quarreled, the four of them would hide in the room and cry out of fear. Zhou Juan would sometimes lose her temper and would drag several children in front of Bai Jianwei. She would then dare him to beat her to death in front of her children.

They were so frightened that they cried and screamed. Bai Jianwei was annoyed and would throw things everywhere. The fragments of pots and bowls became the shadow of Bai Li's childhood, piece by piece spelling out this unbearable childhood memory.

"Are you really not coming back?" Bai Xue took out a new pair of headphones from the drawer and handed them to Bai Li, "I bought this for you."

Bai Ping gave Bai Li a hand-knitted white scarf with a yellow pear embroidered inside.

Bai Li thanked her, sniffed and said, "I'm not coming back."

Bai Xue and Bai Ping hugged her, and Bai Fei came over and hugged Bai Li, "Third sister, please come back, our parents will be angry..."

He was young at the time and didn't remember much. Because of his young age, his parents were very gentle. When he grew up, because he stayed with his mother all year round and was supervised, he didn't have the temperament of a teenager but a child. He’s shy and introverted.

Bai Li looked at him and said, "I’ll come back when you get married."

Bai Fei smiled shyly, "Okay."

Bai Jianwei came out of the room. He drank, and his body smelled of alc*hol and his anger was rising. He walked to Bai Xue's room on crutches and shouted to Bai Li, "Come out!"

Bai Li was so frightened by the roar that she couldn't help but tremble.

Bai Jianwei saw it. He not only saw Bai Li's reaction, but also clearly saw the frightened expressions on the faces of the other three children.

He turned around and sat on the sofa with a crutch.

When Bai Li came over, he threw the household registration book on the coffee table, "Stay at home for a few days before leaving. Take this. I have discussed the wedding with your mother. You can handle it yourself."

She did not expect that it would be her father Bai Jianwei who finally agreed.

The most short-tempered father who likes to hit people the most.

Bai Jianwei also handed Shen An's bank card over, "Take this back, your mother and I want to make sure he has money and the ability to provide you with good living conditions. We don't care about anything else. Just live a good life with him, it’s okay if you don’t come back in the future, come back if you feel homesick..."

It may be that the injury to his leg has worn away his arrogance, or it may be that the words Bai Li cried out just now made him reflect, or it may be the shock that appeared on the faces of the four children at the same time just now. Their fearful expression irritated him. In short, it was rare for Bai Jianwei to speak with a soft voice, and he said a lot.

"Let's celebrate the New Year at home this year." Bai Jianwei looked at her and said, "It's rare for the entire family to be together."

Bai Li nodded with red eyes.

Zhou Juan had just argued with Bai Jianwei in the bedroom about how their relatives would gossip after Bai Li got married without inviting anyone.

Currently, of the four children, only Bai Li is the most successful. Bai Xue and Bai Ping are also relatively average. They work from 9 to 5, and occasionally work overtime and get some subsidies, which is only worth less than 4,000 yuan a month. Deduct the food and living expenses, their life is quite tight.

Bai Li's minimum wage is 5,000 to 6,000 yuan a month. In addition to giving her mother 1,000 yuan a month, she also transfers money to Zhou Juan during holidays. The Mid-Autumn Festival is 2,000 yuan, the Chinese New Year is 3,000 yuan, and parents’ birthdays, including Father’s Day and Mother’s Day, are also two thousand per person. She provides more than twenty thousand to her family every year.

Bai Jianwei didn't say anything, but he remembered in his heart that he was a typical male chauvinist. If he hadn't injured his leg, he would definitely not use his daughter's money.

Zhou Juan is different. Zhou Juan likes money. She usually likes to take advantage. She once argued with Bai Jianwei countless times over money, and now the two of them are arguing about the wedding.

Bai Jianwei yelled at her directly, "Don’t you just want the gift money?!"

One sentence made Zhou Juan tremble with anger, "Yes! I want the money! What?! Should I be ashamed?! How many gifts did I give out to our relatives?! I attended countless wedding ceremonies, and when it’s my child’s turn, shouldn’t I expect the same?!”

"How many children do you have?! How many children do you have?! Don't you know how many children you have?!" Bai Jianwei also shouted.

Their family has many children. Of the three daughters, only one daughter was allowed to do a wedding. This candidate was chosen over and over again, and it fell on Bai Li.

But now, Bai Li doesn't want to hold a wedding, so he thinks it’s okay and he can just throw a wedding for their other children.

But Zhou Juan disagreed. In her heart, Shen An looked talented and rich. There was no reason for her to hide it from her relatives. Besides, the boyfriends Bai Xue and Bai Ping would find in the future might not be comparable to Shen An.

Bai Jianwei knew what she had in mind, and the two quarreled for a long time, before Bai Jianwei took out the household registration book.

Zhou Juan was also tired of the noise, and was even more worried that Shen An next door would hear the noise. When she came out, Bai Li had already returned to the room with her household registration book.

Everything is settled.

Zhou Juan endured it, gritted her teeth, and returned to her bedroom.
