Chapter 6 - Show me.

"Are you injured?"

Shen An walked up to Bai Li and wanted to see her head, but she was wearing a sweater, a hat, sunglasses and a mask on her face. He had no idea where to check her injuries.

The group of debt collectors had left, dragging Shen Guangde who passed out from pain. Before the car door closed, Shen An didn't even look at Shen Guangde again.

Bai Li took a moment and then said, "...I'm okay."

"Show me." His voice was gentle, but his tone was irrefutable.

Bai Li stood up, covering her head, and said in a nervous voice, "I'm... fine, I'm... leaving."

Shen An clasped her wrist and said, "Show me."

Her whole arm was stiff.

Shen An had already taken off her hat and sunglasses, and a pair of frightened eyes like a deer were revealed in front of him. Those eyes were pure and clean, with red eyes and long and narrow eyelashes still stained with moisture.

Shen An was slightly startled. He thought that this girl kept covering her face because she had flaws on her face, but he never imagined that she would have such beautiful eyes under her sunglasses.

Bai Li hurriedly pulled up her hat and raised her feet to walk out, "I...I...I'm fine."

"It's starting to swell." Shen An's big palm clasped the back of her neck, forcing her to tilt her face upward, then reached out to push the long hair away from her forehead and carefully looked at her red and swollen forehead.

Bai Li even held her breath, her face was red, and she looked around nervously, but she didn't know where to look. When she looked up, she only saw the man's face close at hand, and his rolling Adam's apple.

She blinked helplessly, her whole face burning hot.

"Are you dizzy? Are there any other symptoms of discomfort?" Shen An looked into her eyes and asked.

Her whole body trembled, and she lowered her eyes, her voice trembling with nervousness, "No, I'm not dizzy, no, I'm fine."

"Wait for me." Shen An turned around and walked towards the clinic. After a few steps, he suddenly looked back at Bai Li and said, "Don't wander around, wait for me at the door."

Bai Li ran away anyway. She was extremely nervous. It was the first time she was so close to a man and her face was held in his hands and looked at for so long. Her whole body was almost burning.

But before he could run far, Shen An caught up with her.

He grabbed her wrist, frowned and asked her, "Why are you running?"

Bai Li’s arms stiffened again.

Shen An pulled her to the intersection and hailed a taxi.

"Where...where...are we going?" Bai Li asked uneasily.

"We'll go to the city hospital and take you for a brain CT scan to make sure everything is fine. Then you can go home." Shen An opened the car door and motioned for her to sit in.

"Wait...I..." Bai Li said in a panic, "I don't have to, I'm fine."

Shen An turned his head and looked at her, "Whether there is anything wrong depends on what the doctor says. If something happens, it will be too late. There are many people who have been injured and died by golf clubs."

Bai Li was stunned when she heard that. She wanted to retort, but she didn't dare to look into the other person's eyes. She just lowered her head and said in a low voice, "...it's just...swelling."

Her voice was too soft, and Shen An didn't hear her clearly. He lowered his back slightly, and his face was very close to hers, "What did you say?"

Bai Li shook her head and stuttered as if her tongue was tied, "No, it's nothing."

"Did you bring your ID card?" Shen An asked.

Bai Li nodded lightly.

"Get in and sit." Shen An pressed her shoulders, pushed her into the back seat and sat down, then closed the car door, opened the passenger door and sat in.

"Go to the city hospital." He said to the driver.

After the car started, he took out his mobile phone and sent a message to Miao Zhanpeng: "I won't be back until tonight, so I’ll call the clients on the reservation list."

He closed his phone and glanced at the back seat through the rearview mirror.

Bai Li lowered her head and looked at her hands twisted together the whole time. The sweater was very loose and the brim of the hat was very large, covering her whole head inside.

"Little girl, are you hot?" the driver said, "I feel hot even when I turn on the air conditioner. Look at you wearing such thick clothes and a hat."

Bai Li wrung her fingers and said nothing.

Shen An tilted his head and changed the topic, "Master, it's so hot, where do you usually wait for people?"

"Oh, it's really hot today, of course we'll find a place to cool down..." The driver started chatting immediately, and until Shen An got off the cab, he was still chattering about his "history of struggle."

Shen An paid the money, opened the back seat door, waited for Bai Li to come out, and then walked to the hospital lobby.

Bai Li stopped behind him.

"What's wrong?" He took a few steps and found that she hadn't followed him, so he turned to look at her.

"I... I'm really... okay." Her voice was nervous and uneasy. She didn't dare to look at him even though she was wearing sunglasses. She just lowered her head and looked at the ground, wringing her hands tightly.

Shen An stared at her for a moment, walked up to her in a few steps, and asked in a low voice, "Afraid of going to the hospital?"

Bai Li couldn't utter a word.

Yes, she’s petrified.

So please don't force me to go, she thought.

She turned around to leave, but her wrist was grabbed by the man.

She raised her eyes in astonishment. Through her sunglasses, she could only see the Shen An's smooth jawline. His Adam's apple was rolling up and down. His textured voice overflowed from his throat and fell into the air, causing her back to tingle with dread.

"Don't be afraid, I'll hold you."
