The Veterinarian (1v1) (H) - 28
Chapter 28 - Wait for me tonight.
Bai Li's ears turned red and she played the voice message again, but her eyes couldn't help but stare at his photo.
Shen An's facial features are
very attractive. To describe it in Dai Mei's words: There are millions of
good-looking men in the world, but every ten thousand only one is good.
Shen An is that one.
After Dai Mei saw him last time,
she kept whispering in Bai Li's ear: "How do you know such a handsome guy?
How come I don’t know about him?! D*mn! Why is he so handsome?!"
It was also the first time for
Bai Li to encounter someone like Shen An.
Although he appeared cold, he
actually has a soft side. This gentleness though was only reserved for animals.
She saw that his attitude when dealing clients was different from when he faced
animals.
He seems to be fit for the job.
Bai Li was listening to his
message for the second time when Shen An sent another one, his voice a little
hoarse: "If you don't reply to my message, I’ll go find you."
Her heart trembled, and she held
her phone and typed: [Just got up. 】
Shen An called directly. Bai Li
hesitated for a long time with red ears before pressing answer. This was the
first time she answered on the first call.
"Why were you up so late
last night?" Shen An came out and stood at the door smoking, breathing
hoarsely.
"Busy... busy with work."
She stuttered nervously.
"Girls, should not stay up
late." Shen An's voice sounded farther away, as if he was greeting a
guest, and then he said to her, "I was originally scheduled to come back
tomorrow, but I want to see you today, so wait for me tonight, okay?"
Bai Li's heart trembled
violently. She was holding the phone, her throat seemed to be blocked, and she
couldn't make any sound. After a long time, she said: "No, it can't be
done."
"Okay, then I'll be back in
the evening." Shen An automatically ignored her refusal and smiled at her
and said, "Open the door and have a look. There's food for you at the
door."
Bai Li stood up without knowing
why, walked to the door, and looked out through the pe*phole. There was no one
and nothing outside the door. She opened the door gently and saw a bag hanging
on the doorknob.
It's all food.
"...Thank you." She
locked the door and put the bag on the small round table. When she opened it,
she found that there was a golden glutinous rice dumpling and a blood glutinous
rice porridge. Today, red dates*, longan* and wolfberry* were added to it.
"I saw you liked the food
yesterday, so I ordered another one for you," Shen An chuckled, "Eat
it while it's hot, I have to go."
"Thank you, thank you."
Bai Li mumbled and thanked him again.
"I don't want your
gratitude." Shen An's voice lowered a bit, "You know what I
want."
Bai Li’s whole neck was red. She
held the phone in silence, hearing a deep chuckle in her ears, and then the
call ended.
She exhaled and sat on the sofa
with trembling fingertips.
She glanced at the things on the
table, picked up the ladle and ate a glutinous rice ball*.
She really likes to eat glutinous
rice balls. She came from a big family with a lot of siblings. During the
Chinese New Year, she only got to eat one glutinous rice dumpling. After that,
she never went home to celebrate any festivals.
Not long after finishing the
French bread, she was not very hungry, but she ate four glutinous rice balls
and drank almost half of the blood glutinous rice porridge, which tasted better
than the one with milk.
The phone screen lit up, and Shen
An sent a message, which was a photo.
He was sitting in the car, his
left hand stretched out the window, the golden sunshine fell on his palm, his
fingers were spread out, and the joints were slender and beautiful.
Then a voice message came in,
and Bai Li clicked on it.
She listened to what he said:
"I caught the light."
Bai Li was stunned.
She paused for two seconds before
realizing something. She clicked on her profile picture and saw the WeChat
caption below her profile picture.
It says: Grow toward the light.
Shen An said that she had caught
the light, and that sentence seemed to mean:
"I caught you."
Her heart was pounding.
Awwww looks like they need each other
