Chapter 11 - You are obedient

Shen An threw the fishy-smelling underwear into the trash can.

 

He chewed on his cigarette and turned on his phone. WeChat was once again filled with red unread messages, except for the column at the top, which was empty and contained no messages.

 

He licked the tips of his teeth and smiled a little.

 

His biological clock was always accurate and he got up on time at half past six every day, but today due to some... force, he was half an hour late.

 

It was already 7:13 when he came out of the shower. Shen An changed his clothes and went to the bun shop to buy breakfast. When the landlady saw him coming, she diligently cleared the table for him.

 

Shen An raised his hand and said, "Pack it."

 

"Do you have a girlfriend? Have you found one yet?" the landlady asked while packing. "I know a girl, pretty, two years younger than you. She works as a clerk, just a block away. If you’re interested, I’ll ask her for her number when she comes later.”

 

A group of young girls buying buns nearby all secretly looked at Shen An.

 

Shen An had long been used to it, and raised his eyebrows and said, "No, I've found her.”

 

"You're trying to trick me, right?" The landlady put two more tea eggs in for him, tied the bag before handing it to him, "When I asked you the last time, and you haven’t found her. Where is she? When will you bring her to me to look?”

 

Shen An paid the money, raised his eyebrows and smiled, "In a few days."

 

"Really?" The landlady was dubious and said with a smile, "Then I'll be waiting."

 

As soon as Shen An entered the clinic, Tan Yuanyuan covered her face and said shyly, "Brother An, you are so handsome today!"

 

Shen An was noncommittal, put his breakfast on the table, looked at his watch, and then walked to the front desk to look at last night's duty record.

 

Miao Zhanpeng washed his face and came out. When he saw Shen An, he asked, "Brother An, are you going out today?"

 

Shen An pointed his finger and said, "Well, what's wrong?"

 

"No, you are dressed differently today than usual." Miao Zhanpeng gave him a thumbs up, "You are more handsome than a model."

 

Tan Yuanyuan opened her eyes wide, "Where are you going? Are there any big customers today?"

 

"It's none of your business." Shen An picked up the appointment form and said to her, "Give me two hours at noon. For the rest of the afternoon, you can take new appointments."

 

"Okay." Tan Yuanyuan was serious for less than two seconds, then she stretched her head and asked again, "Brother An, where are you going at noon?"

 

Shen An knocked on the table, "It's working hours now."

 

Tan Yuanyuan stuck out her tongue, "Oh."

 

In the morning, a female customer brought a dozen small black snakes. Tan Yuanyuan was okay with other animals, but she couldn't accept rats and snakes. Fortunately, she only needed to register them and did not need to have close contact with these "cute pets."

 

After the clients left, she complained to Shen An, "Thirteen snakes, she can actually tell them apart, and even gave them a bunch of English names!"

 

Shen An ignored her.

 

After washing his hands, he took out his mobile phone to read the WeChat messages. When he came over in the morning, he sent a message to Bai Li and asked her what she planned to treat him to at noon.

 

However, Bai Li's dialog box was empty, and she didn't reply to a single message.

 

A client came in at the door, and Tan Yuanyuan was busy registering. Shen An made a gesture to Tan Yuanyuan, entered the office with his mobile phone, and dialed Bai Li.

 

As soon as the call was connected, he heard Bai Li’s muffled cry on the other end, "...how long will it take you to arrive...I'm so scared..."

 

Shen An's eyebrows suddenly wrinkled, "What's wrong?"

 

Bai Li cried for a while, and then she probably realized that she had accidentally answered Shen An's call. She didn't speak for a while, only sobbing a few times.

 

There was a violent knock on the door on the other end of the receiver, accompanied by the man's roar, "F*ck you crazy! I know you're in there! Open the f*cking door and get out!"

 

The sound gradually weakened, and it must have been Bai Li who covered the receiver.

 

Shen An took off his white coat and went to the table to get the motorcycle keys, "Send me the address and I'll go there now."

 

"No need...my friend will be here soon." Bai Li’s voice had a heavy nasal sound.

 

"Bai Li!" Shen An was angry. He suppressed his anger and said patiently to her, "Give me the address and I will drive the person away and prevent him from hurting you. Be obedient and stay in the room."

 

Bai Li sobbed again before saying, "Okay."

 

When Shen An rushed out, he even forgot to take his helmet. All he could think about was Bai Li hiding alone in the room, covering her mouth and crying, feeling aggrieved and helpless.

 

It was k*lling him, he wanted to fly to her right now.
