The Divine Beast Record of The Dragon Sons: Yaizhen - 1

Chapter One

The waves are shimmering blue; it's almost black. The sound of the tide is faintly melodious. The light and shadow are like rays of swords extending down the open sea. Fish of various colors gathering in groups can be seen swimming back and forth.

The scenery is picturesque, with the blue sea as the sky, the sea waves as the clouds, the colorful fish as the birds, and the corals as the trees, outlining a blue world that is very different from the sky and the earth on the shore. As you travel deeper into the ocean, you will reach the deep sea ridge that mortals cannot set foot on. The mountains stretch for thousands of miles. There's no sun or moon. It's blue and peaceful. The wall of rock is inlaid with colorful shells. The white jade emits a warm light illuminating the underwater town with a soft light.

There are cities and people under the sea. Large and orderly shell houses are built along both sides of the stone road. Dozens of them are connected together. Surrounded by the towering red thousand-year-old coral reefs, one street after another forms a market. A city becomes a town, and a town becomes a city.

Standing majestically on the highest point of the sea ridge, facing thousands of years of coral reefs is a huge and magnificent crystal palace. It is said that a dragon lives in it, so a lot of people call it the Crystal Dragon Palace but not the citizens of Undersea City.

It is built with a keel, paved with fine pearls, inlaid with glazed jade dragon scales, and decorated with rare luminous pearls. The palace is as big as a city, shaped like a coiled dragon. The buildings are arranged in a regular order from short to tall. The short building closest to the palace gate is where the servants, soldiers and generals who serve the underwater palace live. They are distinguished according to their status and rank. The taller buildings are where stewards and shark guards live.

Moving up, the row of four-story pavilions is the guest building and banquet hall for welcoming visitors. The five-story building next to it is the residence of the son and daughter of the city lord. Ultimately, the highest point is the broadest and most luxurious building, where the lord of the undersea city, the Dragon God, resides.

This palace is called "Dragon Bone City", and the underwater city is named after it. People living in the city call themselves the citizens of Dragon Bone City.

The snow-white dragon bones that make up the Dragon Bone City were left behind after the death of the first-generation city lord. The dragon bones are huge and majestic. It is not difficult to imagine how strong and handsome the first-generation city lord was when he was alive. Even if his body is rotten and his flesh is corroded, his bones are still full of momentum and power. The throne of the Dragon God has been passed down from generation to generation. There have been five generations so far. The fourth generation of the Dragon God is still the head of the family. He has nine sons, some are brave and tough, some are knowledgeable and reasonable, some are domineering, and some are kind and gentle. All of them are unique.

The only thing that Dudu, the fourth-generation Dragon God, regrets is that he has nine sons, all male and no female. He had nine children in hopes of getting a cute and charming dragon daughter of his own. Every time, he cherished the hope of having a daughter, and when the child was born his hopes were shattered, leaving him depressed for several years. After finally picking himself up and rekindling his ambition to have a daughter, he tried again and again until he got his ninth son. The fourth-generation Dragon God finally despaired, gave up, and accepted the cruel reality of being without a daughter in his life.

He just wanted a baby daughter. He wanted to know what it feels like to hold her daughter like the apple of his eye and arrogantly show her off to everyone he meets. How smart, pretty and lovable his daughter would have been... How could God deprive him of his happiness and give him nine sons? The sons who love causing trouble and making him so angry that he blew his beard, while they stared at his eyes, vomiting dragon blood!

The fourth-generation Dragon God, who has accumulated grievances, is resentful that his thousand-year-old friend led his tender daughter to show off a father-daughter love in front of him! In addition, the nine dragon sons constantly infuriate, talk back and hit him. His cast-iron body could no longer hold up, and he finally fell seriously ill. He lay in bed for ten and a half days, unable to get out of bed. The business of Dragon Bone City was abandoned. "What you mean is... my father needs an elixir to cure his illness?" The head of the dragon son has a voice that's like the sound of nature, calm and sweet. His words are better than singing, making people's legs weak after listening to them.

The stingray doctor nodded and continued: "As long as I can concoct the elixir with ginseng, phoenix saliva, golden ear, unicorn, cloud water, dragon pear, fairy wine and red date, the Dragon God will definitely be able to regain his former health."

"What the h*ll is Panlonglixianjiu?" Dragon Son No.2, with sharp eyes like blades, filled with murderous aura, played with several sharp daggers in his right hand, throwing them up and down from time to time.

Doctor Sting repeated responsibly for the second time: "The original name is Panlonglixianjiu, which means golden ear and red dates soup. It is made from several kinds of medicinal materials that have been boiled and refined for a long time. It can replenish qi and nourish the body and cure all kinds of diseases. It will be very beneficial to the Dragon God."

"Where can I ask for the money?" Dragon Son No.3, who was called from a thousand miles away, naturally hopes to hear the conclusion as soon as possible.

"The recipe for the ginseng, phoenix saliva, golden ear, unicorn, cloud water, dragon pear, fairy wine and red date soup has been lost for hundreds of years. We had to search through ancestral secret books to find this recipe. If the dragon sons are willing to trust me and my subordinates to refine and concoct, we will do our best to recreate this legendary soup for the Dragon God's long-term grace!" Doctor Sting said while kneeling down to show his daring loyalty.

"It doesn't matter whether we trust you or not, Doctor Sting, just go ahead and do it!" Dragon Son No. 4 replied like a roar, causing the city beams to shake slightly.

"Yes! Yes! But - there are no medicinal materials and ingredients. My subordinates only have the ancestral secret books. It's hard to make a meal without rice."

"The medicine room in the city collects tens of thousands of medicinal materials from the sea city in the heaven, earth and immortal world. Just go and get it." Dragon Son No. 5, two rows of white teeth biting a pipe, swallowing clouds of smoke and puffing out mist - in the sea, smokes are wrapped in foam, gurgling upwards.

"The main medicinal ingredients of the ginseng, phoenix saliva, golden ear, unicorn, cloud water, dragon pear, fairy wine and red date soup are not available in the medicine room. This is also the main reason why we had to summon you to return to the city. We want to ask the dragons to find the ingredients for the Dragon God." Regardless of whether the dragons agreed or not, the stingray doctor proceeded to take the lottery tube and shook the nine sea jade branches inside. "The difficulty of finding medicinal materials varies. For the sake of fairness, let's draw lots. Whichever medicinal ingredient is drawn, you will have to find it. This is the Dragon God's instructions when he was half-conscious... I hope the dragon sons will show their filial piety.”

The nine dragons looked at each other, not showing much filial piety. The next sentence added by Doctor Sting is the key point:

"Of course, the Dragon God can also take this opportunity to test his sons' skills and establish a future successor for Dragon Bone City..."

"Don't talk nonsense, let's begin." The Dragon Son No. 7, regardless of the order of age, took the lead in grabbing the first sea jade branch, and the others followed and took out one branch each.

"What the h*ll is this?!" The Dragon Son No. 4 roared and broke a vertical beam in the house.

"My subordinates, take a look." Doctor Sting held up his hands respectfully, waiting for Dragon Son No. 4 to throw the jade branch from the sea, and then read the words written on the jade branch: "Red dates. Dragon Son No. 4 is very lucky, he picked the easiest one. The ingredient was originally in the medicine room, but we have used it all up, so I have to trouble Dragon Son No. 4 to go to the human world and bring back the red dates."

"What are red dates?"

"It's a little red and round thing. There are always four or five of them rolling around in the bowl when making soup. Have Dragon Son No. 4 not seen them before?"

"..." Thinking hard, Dragon Son No. 4, who only picked large pieces of meat when drinking soup, still couldn't figure it out.

"Doctor Sting, isn't the 'Fu' clan extinct?" The person who asked was Dragon Son No. 6, who had the word 'Fu' on the sea jade branch in his hand.

"We have never seen them at the bottom of the sea. I heard that they gave up their fish tails in exchange for two legs, pretended to be humans, and went to live in the human world. Dragon Son No. 6 picked out the most difficult-to-find medicinal ingredient." Doctor Sting replied.

"Does golden ear refer to the golden fungus?"

"Phoenix saliva? That's easy. I can flatten a phoenix and make it spit it out!"

"Dragon pear? Where does it grow?"

"What is cloud water? Water squeezed out from clouds? Isn't that just rain?"

Each dragon is pestering the stingray doctor to find out what the thing written on their sea jade branch is, and where to find it fastest. Some medicinal ingredients can be conveniently obtained. After the dragon sons heard about the location of the medicinal ingredients, they happily went to get them. Some medicinal ingredients were only known by their names. As for where they were located and how they were obtained, Doctor Sting couldn't tell where they came from. He could only advise the dragon sons to seize the cocoon by themselves and think literally.

Dragon Son No. 2 was the only one who turned around and left without raising any questions. Doctor Sting hurriedly called him out: "The ingredient the Dragon Son No. 2 drew is??..."

"Ginseng. I can bring it back right away." Isn't it just a ginseng plant? He has seen and eaten it before. There's no trouble or difficulty. He can buy a whole handful from the drug store in the human world.

"Dragon Son No. 2, this 'ginseng' is not just a 'ginseng'! It must be a spiritual ginseng that has been conceived with a hundred years of spiritual energy, drinks dew, absorbs the essence of the sun and the moon, and has become a human form!"

"It's best to have this kind of ginseng!" Doctor Sting added. Dragon Son No. 2 glared at the stingray doctor. Sounds like a fairytale to deceive children!

"They're real. It has been mentioned in the book. They must exist! It is said that this kind of spiritual ginseng is good at admiring the moon and the fragrance of flowers. It has an elusive appearance. As soon as it detects someone approaching, it will escape quickly. If it's pulled up from the soil, it will emit a sound, a shrill scream. Precisely because of its rarity, it is a must-have for the Dragon God's elixir. It's the second most difficult medicinal ingredient to find."

"Hmph." It was really unlucky that he got into such trouble, but with Dragon Son No.6 getting the most difficult ingredient to find, he was not the most unlucky.

"Additionally, the dragon sons must pay attention. In order to ensure the freshness of the medicinal ingredients, please wait until you return to Dragon Bone City and let me and my subordinates do the slaughtering and processing when it's time to concoct. Remember to be careful in cutting the medicinal ingredients to prevent the loss of medicinal properties.”
